Role of Private Capital Technical Unit

The Private Capital Technical Unit (PCTU) was established in 2022 to manage DBJ’s expanding portfolio of private capital investments and to execute on DBJ’s Private Capital Funds Strategy.  This follows the successful completion of the Jamaica Venture Capital Programme (2013-2021).

The role of the Unit includes:

  • Management of private capital investment activities, including advisory and oversight of the fund investment and divestment policies
  • Monitoring and reporting on fund performances and impact
  • Collaborating with other functional areas to host knowledge sharing and capacity building activities, aimed at building the capacity of the Jamaican and regional private capital ecosystem.

The PCTU collaborates extensively with internal and external partners, including local, regional, and global private and public sector partners and developmental agencies.
